Project : Southern Province Rural Economic Advancement Project (SPREAP) Socio-Economic Survey

The survey was conducted with the objectives (a) Improve living and working conditions of the estate work force to a level of comparable to national levels, and (b) enhance the profitability of the plantation sector through transformation of Regional Plantation Companies from primary producers to agribusiness entities. The baseline data and findings of the survey assisted the government in its long-term plans in the development of the plantation sector of Sri Lanka. The project was funded by The ADB.

The tertiary and vocational education commission of Sri Lanka is committed to establish and maintain an efficient and effective technical education and vocational training system which is relevant to socio-economic goals and changing market needs. The study was carried out by EML, Identified indicators for assessment of economic and social benefits , and analyze and quantify the social and economic benefits of TVET, including rate of return analysis (economic & financial) and/or cost-benefit analysis.
